Wrinkle Cream Question :
Lots of chemicals are absorbed thru the skin I heard. There was that 17-year-old girl who had excess methyl salicilate in her blood from using a topical cream called Bengay. She also used oral stuff that contained the chemical.
I wonder if using lots of beauty products could do the same thing. I’m currently using a Neutrogena anti-wrinkle cream with spf 15, an eye cream with similar ingredients, also a toner and a cream cleanser. I also wear foundation, powder and lip balm consistently. Then I also take birth control and iron pills. It seems like i’m accumulating chemicals in my body.

Does this concern make sense at all?

Yes it does make sense and makes me wonder…. I havent’t found health reviews of beauty products online maybe switching to natural products might help but I think your liver filters out the toxins or whatever else and you *** the rest out, you should talk to your doc if your really worried.

None of the topical products you use really have any active drug ingredients in them as bengay does. Most ingredients in makeup would be fine even if ingested (though that would be kind of odd); becuse they are made for the face they are made not to harm you if they get in the mouth/nose/eyes, and since the skin absorbs a lot less than the amount of chemicals you will ingest in tiny misapplication it shouldn’t even really accumulate.

Yes it makes sense. Some people only put things on their skin that would be safe to eat. Either way, it ends up in the blood stream. Some products are unsafe to the skin and some are unsafe to have in your blood. We each have to make those decisions along with many others every day. Like, eating foods loaded with preservatives, hormones, antibiotics, steroids, pesticides. You could go off the deep end either way. I say moderation.
